I.    Mastema returns to the Vans Warped Tour

This summer marks the third year in a row that we have been fortunate enough to play on the Warped Tour, and with bands like Bad Religion and Pennywise on the bill, it looks to be the best year yet. We will be performing on the Hot Topic Kevin Says Stage for the Bay Area date tomorrow and when we hit the road the following week:

July 1 (Sun):    Mountain View, CA - Shoreline Amphitheatre
July 11 (Wed):
Phoenix, AZ - Cricket Pavilion
July 12 (Thu):
Las Cruces, NM - N.M.S.U. Practice Field

Check out www.warpedtour.com and www.kevinsaysstage.com for more details. Hope to see you there!

II.    “Requiem For My Liver” wins 1st place in songwriting contest

We just received news that our drinking song won first place in the Indie Artist Alliance’s national Songwriter & Storyteller contest! Part of the prize is that our song will be featured on the contest compilation CD, which we were told will ship next week… more info on this to come. You can listen to “Requiem For My Liver” on our MySpace page at www.myspace.com/mastema, on the Warped Tour D.I.Y. Stage compilation, and on our forthcoming CD...

III.    Mastema currently in the studio, completing new album

We are in the process of finishing up our new self-titled full-length record with our buddy Josh Garcia at legendary Hyde Street Studios in San Francisco. We have a bunch of new songs on the album as well as some favorites from our live shows, and we are really excited about how it is sounding so far! The CD will also include our upcoming music video for "Requiem For My Liver," shot by Empyrean Media and Rosalyn Lee. The record will be released in late fall on our label, Song of the Phoenix Records, and will be available on iTunes, Interpunk.com, and select retail stores.

IV.    Radio, radio, radio

After finishing up a very successful college radio campaign with Planetary Group for Entropy, we were pleasantly surprised to find out that we were being played by over half of the 150 stations that received our CD!
